Wörndl Elisabeth
Elisabeth Wörndl was born in Salzburg and lives in Salzburg and Mondsee, Austria. She has studied at Glasgow School of Art, Fine Art Photography and has had awards and residencies in Rome, Paris, Arizona, Chicago, New York City, Mexico City, Luxemburg, London and other places.
Elisabeth Wörndl works in the field of digital photography and video. In her work she explores her own body in connection with image-generated diagnostic instruments in relation to urban space or desert landscapes. She also deals with issues of urban life and environment, contemporary nomadic life, and notions of identity. Elisabeth Wörndl‘s work has been shown in solo shows and group shows in Austria and abroad since 1992.

2014 starts with the group show Time and Again , curated by Maddy Rosenberg Central Booking, NY.
2013 January to March she was on a residency in London, working on the subject matter urbanism and environment. She took part at several group exhibitions in Salzburg, Gmunden and Linz, A.
2012 she took part in a Screening exhibition : Contemporary Austrian Photography, Galerie Fotohof, Salzburg. In June she had two solo-shows, one was Hortus Conclusus Luxemburg and Mondsee, A. Both shows dealed with subject matters like nature and environment. In November she took part in a group show in Munich and also in Me, Myself and Them, within the Month of photography in Vienna.
2011 she was taking part in a show in Mexico City; Skin, February 2011 and in May she was on a residency in Luxemburg to work on the subject of city – garden- city – scapes. She also had a show in cooperation with British artist Chloe Brown at the Gallery Basement, Vienna.
2010 she has taken part in an exchange show between Mexico City and Salzburg and had a solo show in Salzburg, Mirabellgarden, Parks and Gardens.
2009 her work was shown in Salzburg Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art, Mdm Mönchsberg, Fotohof Artothek, Gallery Traklhaus in Salzburg and in Gallery Maerz in Linz, A.
Elisabeth Wörndl takes part at activities of different international artists groups and is a member of Gallery Fotohof, Salzburg. www.fotohof.at
